She could feel that the book did not want her to rest, that it had more things to tell her. She did not want to let the book go. After one final deep breath, she placed the book back on the table. It took her a long minute to raise her hand from touching the cover. Magnetically, she pulled her hand away from it, turned around and decided to walk out of the room; maintaining a gaze at the book, still.
I definitely did consume a lot of content in the form podcasts, movies, and TV series during this lockdown; more than what I would have consumed in a usual year. Key: I have made my peace with the fact that I cannot for the life of me “focus” on a long running TV show/movie until I’m watching it with someone else, until I’m “incentivised” to follow up.
2019, I thought was probably the worst year of my reading (and life, in general). But you should never be too arrogant about hitting rock bottom; no way I could have seen what a train-wreck 2020 would be. So for large parts of the year, I did not really read. If only I would have tracked the number of books I started and failed to finish. Note: This list would be updated and maintained from September, 2020.
